PC/ABS Blends
These blends are used in numerous applications, and particularly where a good balance of melt flow and ductility is needed. End use examples include office equipment housings, mobile phones, etc. For some of these applications, PC/ABS blends with added levels of toughening are required to provide adequate protection against hazards of rough handling or accidental impacts.

For PC/ABS blends, Elvaloy® 1125A and Elvaloy® 1330AC provides very good toughening. Figure 1 compares the performance of different DuPont impact modifiers in PC/ABS blends (ratio 60:40) at room temperature and at 0°C.

PBT/PC blends
PC/PBT blends are used in automotive, appliances, electrical applications. The material exibit good impact resistance and mechanical strength, even at low temperatures, excellent dimensional stability, good chemical resistance and good moldability.

For PBT/PC blends, super toughening can be obtained with Elvaloy® PTW.
This is mainly due to the reactivity between the epoxy group of the impact modifier and carboxylic end-groups of PBT. General purpose toughening can be obtain with Elvaloy® 1125AC.

Figure 3 compares the performance of different DuPont impact modifiers in PBT/PC blends (ratio 50:50) at room temperature and at 0°C.
